PRODUCTION - LIVE MUSIC
Athens, GA has a world-famous music scene. When I founded Rose of Athens, it seemed obvious that to create theatre in a town with so many talented musicians and not make live music a part of each production would be a waste of a tremendous resource. Since the very first Rose of Athens productions, I have made live music a part of every performance. Whether it was a solitary pianist playing Duke Ellington ballads to accompany a Truman Capote play in a small, black box theater, or an orchestra of kettle drums, chains, broken xylophones, and a thunderous concert bass drum creating a haunted drill corps for MacBeth, I have made live music a central part of all of my productions.
